Densification and grain growth promote the oriented microstructure. Large particles tend to be aligned well by the magnetic torque. Small particles are absorbed in large oriented particles during sintering. Particularly, grain growth occurred well at final stage of sintering. Both of the distribution of primary particle size and the orientation degree in green compact affect this process. The objective of this study was to fabrication of strontium bismuth titanate ceramics with highly crystal-oriented structure and high density, and to examine the influences of experimental parameters such as magnetic field and sintering on the oriented structure development.
